We work proudly alongside some of the biggest names from remarkable industries around the world.
Fairgrieve Compression Moulding managing director Barry Davidson says the firm ends 2024 in a good position after seeing ‘many new doors opened’ following a year of repeated industry recognition for the business.
The company has been in the headlines throughout the past 12 months – and its employees in the spotlight – as it has been hailed for its work at a number of national manufacturing awards events.
They have highlighted the firm’s impressive track record of product development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
The business was crowned the winner of the North East Business Awards in the ‘Made in the North East’ category, and was also named in the British Plastic Federation’s list of the Top 15 Plastic Innovations of 2024.
That recognised the development of Fairgrieve’s Matrix Firewall Bracket Base, which is capable of withstanding intense heat, fire, and smoke for up to two hours and is being used in its thousands in the construction industry to improve the fire resistance of new buildings.
Mr Davidson has also been hailed for his leadership and was named in The Manufacturer’s Top 100, a prestigious list of the leading 100 people in UK manufacturing.
‘New working partnerships’ for 2025
“It has been a great year for us in terms of profiling not only the work we do, but also the quality of our team and products,” said Mr Davidson.
“The exposure we have had from various awards events this year has been fantastic as it has put our name in front of some very big businesses and highlighted our commitment to continuous improvement, research and product development.
“We’ve seen the positive impact in that we have had businesses contact us, who we’ve never been asked to quote for work with before, and we’ve also seen plenty of people visit us here in the North East to take a tour of the factory and meet the team. All of those people have left suitably impressed and we’ve remained in contact.
“It has certainly opened doors for us, and we’ve established a number of new relationships which we expect to develop into strong working partnerships in 2025, and result in some significant orders for our business.”
Mr Davidson says Fairgrieves recently secured an ‘excellent new contract’ at the beginning of January with a returning customer, which will prove a great start to the New Year.
“We’ll be up and running from day one in 2025 with a great new order to start on, who we’ve worked for before and so we’ll be able to pick up seamlessly,” he said.
“Thankfully, due to the investment in the business in recent years, and our efficiency improvements, we’re now well placed to take on a number of new contracts, and have a workforce which is used to working with flexibility to accommodate when those new orders come through the door. “I think 2024 has been a year of great recognition, and 2025 will be a year when we build on that success.”
