Fairgrieves celebrates five years of progression and growth under owner Daniel Beaumont and managing director Barry Davidson

Fairgrieve Compression Moulding owner Daniel Beaumont and managing director Barry Davidson are celebrating the milestone of five years with the business – a period in which they have led it through continued growth and secured a string of awards.

The pair have not only overseen a remarkable transformation of the business, now in its 113th year, but have also set their sights on more success in the years to come, having strengthened its position with contract wins in the defence, aviation automotive and electronics sectors.

Since acquiring the company in 2021, Mr Beaumont has overseen a period of strategic investment and steady growth.

He recruited Mr Davidson at the beginning to lead the business, bringing a strong commitment to operational excellence, customer relationships, and team development.

Regional and national awards recognition

Over the past five years Mr Beaumont and Mr Davidson have led the business to record-breaking sales performances.

Recognition for the company and its staff has also come at national awards events including the Make UK Awards, the Engineering and Manufacturing Awards, the Plastics Industry Awards and The Manufacturer Top 100 Awards.

The business has been repeatedly recognised at the North East Business Awards, where it was the regional winner of the Small Business of the Year award in 2023, in recognition of a 50% annual increase in orders, and winner of the ‘Made in the North East’ category in 2024, recognising the firm’s innovative product development.

Reflecting on reaching the milestone of five years at the helm, Mr Beaumont said: “It has been an incredible journey.

“We have built on Fairgrieve’s strong foundations while embracing new opportunities for growth to position us as a trusted and forward-thinking manufacturer within the compression moulding sector.

“I am hugely proud of what the team has achieved over the past five years, and equally excited about what lies ahead.”

Growth driven by ‘dedicated team’

Mr Davidson says the success has been down to both the investment of Mr Beaumont, and the ‘dedicated team’ at Fairgrieves who bought into the vision set out five years ago to transform the company’s fortunes.

Twice in the past three years, annual sales increases in excess of 50% have been achieved.

“It has been a privilege to lead Fairgrieve through this period of progress,” said Mr Davidson.

“Over the five years we have really strengthened and tightened all of our internal processes, expanded our capabilities, and ensured we have worked to the highest of standards.

“Our continued investment in people, equipment and processes has ensured we have remained competitive in challenging times, strengthening relationships with clients, including many who we have supplied for many years, and some clients in markets which have been new to us.

“We recently had a visit from a world-leading manufacturer, who have placed a significant order with us for 2027, and they were hugely impressed with how we work here. That was a real boost for us.

“Ultimately, our success is down to the dedication of our people and the trust of our customers. We remain focused on delivering quality, reliability, and innovation in everything we do.”
